We audited 800+ Klaviyo accounts, here are our top 7 Klaviyo hacks you may not know (yet)
1. Turn off smart sendings in flows.
Turn off Smart Sending in ALL email flows that you are sending. Period.
Flows should be regulated by precise flow filters and not by smart sending.
Why? Because Smart Sending will block a lot of the traffic that usually comes from campaigns. If you just sent a campaign and your abandonment flows can’t send reminders due to smart sending, you’re literally standing in your own way.

2. Missing the Klaviyo attribution in third-party tool.
If you use GA4, TripleWhale, Northbeam, etc. for attribution, you need to make sure that UTMs are set up correctly. Otherwise Klaviyo attribution may be off in your reports and that can throw off everything.
Here’s how:
In Account Settings → Other → UTM tracking, check if the account's UTM settings are enabled.
In each of the flow emails, make sure “Enable UTM Tracking” is ticked.

3. Ruthlessly suppress bounced or unengaged profiles.
Purge unengaged profiles ruthlessly, it’s not only saving you money on your Klaviyo bills but also saves your deliverability long term.
Here’s how:
Step 1: Find out the unengaged segments.
Step 2: Send 2 breakup campaigns to try to win them back one last time.
Step 3: Purge all the profiles that didn’t engage with the breakup campaigns within 48 hours.
Step 4(optional): Setup a winback flow.
(By the way, Aimerce Agent is launching a new tool that can automate this entire process. Stay tuned.)
The majority of people dismiss the popup when they first land on the page. And often, they may want to opt-in later when they want to buy. Give them a way to find the popup again.

5. Use Sender best practices
Even in 2025, a lot of brands are still sending generic subject lines and preview texts and send from their brand accounts. Don’t be one of them. Rather give your customers a real reason to open the emails and make your emails feel personal.
Here’s what’s working for us:
An Emoji as the first character
“You”, “Your”, “Yours” in the subject line
Keep the Subject Line short. Less than 7 words if possible.
Send from a person’s name like “Yiqi from Aimerce” instead of just “Aimerce”.
Use the customer’s name in the Subject Line if possible.
Hook them in the subject line and create urgency and curiosity in the preview text.
6. Better timed abandoned cart sequences
Send your first abandoned cart email quickly (within 20 min - 2 hours). Don’t wait until 3 hours later.
Statistics show that people are more likely to buy if they receive an email timely.
Always remember: This is not dating, so don’t be shy to be fast with following up.
7. Optimize for mobile
Over 52% of emails in the Ecommerce space are opened on a mobile device. But very few people test and optimize their emails for mobile correctly.
Here are 3 tips to optimize Klaviyo Emails for mobile:
Check if all images in your emails are compressed properly. Customers might open your emails while they’re on the way somewhere so don’t expect their internet connection to be great.
Optimize blocks for mobile separately by splitting up the email into ‘mobile only’ and ‘desktop only’ blocks. That way you can modify font sizes to appear properly on both device types. Disclaimer: Don’t do that with photos though as the email will then hold the information for the image twice which makes the email very data heavy.
Use Klaviyo’s built in mobile preview to check if you’ve made any fatal mistakes. You can also send a test email to your phone to check it before it goes out.

Cheers!
